How does the procedure work?

The process depends on the type of thrombectomy recommended and includes the following steps:

1. Patient preparation

Blood tests and imaging studies such as Doppler ultrasound, CT scan, or angiography are performed.

2. The intervention

In minimally invasive procedures, a catheter is introduced through a small access point to aspirate, fragment, and remove the clot.
In surgical thrombectomy, an incision is made to directly access the vessel and manually remove the clot.

3. Monitoring

After the procedure, the patient is observed in the intensive care unit or a hospital room to prevent complications and assess the success of the intervention.
